Trinity Western University Volunteers Make a Big Impact at ReStore

Trinity Western University Volunteer Team

Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity was proud to welcome a dedicated visiting volunteer team from Trinity Western University, led by longtime Habitat champion Allen Kotanen. Over the course of a busy and productive week, the group of 19 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and made an incredible difference at our ReStore.

The team focused their efforts on organizing, pricing, and stocking a tremendous volume of donated items. Thanks to their hard work and positive energy, our ReStore is better prepared to serve the community and generate critical funding that helps build safe, decent, and affordable homes for local families.

Allen Kotanen’s leadership and commitment to service continue to inspire. For more than 20 years, Allen has been bringing volunteer teams to Kaua‘i, and his impact reaches far beyond our island. He has also led teams to serve at Habitat for Humanity affiliates in several states, helping expand the spirit of volunteerism wherever he goes.

Team Leader Allan Kotanen

This year’s group included mostly first-time volunteer travelers, along with a few returning participants who were eager to give back once again. Throughout the week, the team demonstrated teamwork, enthusiasm, and a genuine heart for service. Many shared how meaningful it was to contribute behind the scenes at the ReStore and to support affordable housing efforts in our community.

We are deeply grateful to Allen and the Trinity Western University volunteers for choosing to spend their time and talents with Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity. Their efforts will have a lasting impact on our operations and on the families we serve.

Mahalo to this wonderful team for helping us build homes, communities, and hope.
