30 Nov Sweetest Gift
The fact that people are willing to travel here to spend their days building homes and hope with us is a gift in and of itself. That is just what Global Village volunteers do. They generously give of their time and money to give a hand up to a family on island. On top of this incredible gift, Global Village team member Sarah Pachkowsky, brought us a very special gift from her neck of the woods. Sarah is a Community Engagement Manager for Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island; she arrived at our affiliate with a hand carved mask that was created by Salish artist Noel Brown who lives on Vancouver Island. Noel is a member of the Snuneymuxw First Nation and believes that honoring Coast Salish stories and history through art is part of reconciliation. We are truly touched and grateful to receive such a beautiful and thoughtful gift.
