03 May Women Build the Community
Once again Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity was chosen as one of the affiliates to participate in National Women Build week! This year we joined more than 17,000 volunteers in 320 communities to build homes and hope. Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement, that encourages women to build and advocate for simple, decent and affordable houses in their communities. In our community more than 20 volunteers joined forces with habitat staff and homeowners to paint the exterior of the future home of Frank and Shana Cruz. The Cruz home is one of 12 new homes being built in phase II of the ‘Ele‘ele Iluna subdivision. Mahalo to all the volunteers that made this event such a tremendous success! You can read all about it in the article published by The Garden Island.
