09 Jan Welcome Ryder
Join us as we welcome Ryder Hom to the Kaua’i Habitat ‘ohana! Ryder will be joining us as an AmeriCorps Service Member volunteering to help us build homes, community and hope for the next ten and a half months. He will begin his term in January working alongside our construction staff and leading volunteers as a Construction Crew Leader. Ryder had been wanting to do a service program for a while when he found out Habitat for Humanity collaborates with AmeriCorps.
When asked what motivated Ryder to volunteer with Kaua’i Habitat he shared, “I am most motivated when I can help others, and I enjoy working in teams, meeting new people, learning new skills, having new experiences and being challenged. As this program includes all of those things, I was excited to apply for it.”
Ryder also shared with us that he heard Hawai’i has a good feeling of community, especially in the smaller towns and islands, so he is excited to be part of a close-knit community. Let’s show him how wonderful and special our community is. We are indeed #Lucky2LiveKauai.
