13 Aug New Homebuyers Celebrate
It was a beautiful gathering as we celebrated the accomplishments of Phrystal Bacio, Mele DeCosta and Shawntel Yadao at a House Dedication ceremony to honor our newest homebuyers. The celebration began with an opening pule by Catherine Shiningstar Ka’auwai who works as the Family Services Manager for Kaua’i Habitat. “This is my favorite part of the process,” stated Catherine, “I work directly with the families when they start their journey toward homeownership, so it’s great to see the day when they reach their goal.”
Kaua’i Habitat for Humanity Deputy Director, Milani Pimental entertained the crowd as she introduced guest speakers that included Governor’s Representative, Carrice Gardner, as well as Kaua’i Habitat Executive Director, Stephen Spears and Kaua’i Habitat Board President, Peter Wiederoder. A highlight of the event was when one of the children moving into her new home expressed her excitement of having her own room.
The new homebuyers were then presented with gifts and well wishes from all in attendance to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment.
