22 May Mural Underway
It was a very exciting day as artists and students from our immersion schools arrived at the Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity ReStore to begin putting paint to the highway side of the building. For now the students, as well as community members, are just putting colorful handprints on the wall as a base for the future mural. By touching and painting the wall it enables the community and our keiki to put themselves into the story. “For me, this is a gift to the entire island.” stated ReStore Manager, Cynthia Dazzi. This mural that will be prominently displayed in Hanapepe, is the 10th and final mural in the Ke Kanakolu series. We are all thrilled to be included in this artistic endeavor.
