KHfH Introduces New Volunteer Program Manager

Kaua’i Habitat for Humanity is excited to introduce Nicole Pacanas as our new Volunteer Program Manager. Nicole comes to the position with the unique advantage of experiencing the nonprofits volunteer program from every aspect. She and her family were in the first group of homebuyers in the second phase of the ‘Ele’ele Iluna subdivision. So she was initially introduced to the organization as a homebuyer, and like all our homebuyers, had to spend a good amount of time working alongside Habitat volunteers and staff as she and her family constructed their home.

As a Habitat homebuyer, Nicole came to understand the connections and bonds that can be formed between our homebuyers and volunteers. She herself, has maintained relationships with those generous individuals who were there to help as she went through the homeownership process. Whether it was traveling volunteer groups that came a great distance to help, or neighbors that came from just around the corner, all volunteers make an impact on those they help. That understanding will serve her well in this position.

Nicole first began working as an Administrative Assistant for the volunteer program in early 2021, before transitioning to Volunteer Coordinator and finally Program Manager in July of this year. “My goal is to continue to grow the program and provide a positive experience for those who volunteer with us,” she stated of her new position.  Where she keeps extremely busy hosting and organizing individual volunteers, traveling volunteer groups, local build groups, in addition to recruiting for and organizing all aspects of the program.

If you have an interest in making a difference on island and would like to volunteer with us, please reach out to Nicole at npacanas@kauaihabitat.org  or call (808) 335-0296 ext. 1013.
