06 Aug Building Community
Homeownership consists of far more than just building a house. The beautiful thing is those houses become homes, and those homes quickly become part of our community. We’re so fortunate that here on Kaua’i we have a strong community that understands that by supporting each other, our community grows stronger.
Recently two local organizations in our community went out of their way to help our homebuyers. First, Kaua’i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC), attended one of our homeowner meetings to inform and educate the new homebuyers on energy use and the programs they offer. Then Leadership Kaua’i organized a group build day at our ‘Ele’ele Iluna subdivision, where members of the organization volunteered to either paint or install insulation on homes being constructed in the neighborhood.
These are just two of the many community organizations that make a tremendous impact on the families we serve. Kaua’i Habitat has always been blessed by tremendous support from our wonderful Kaua’i community. We couldn’t be more grateful for this amazing island and the truly extraordinary people who live on it.
