Kaua‘i Habitat Temporarily Closes ReStore and Build Sites Following Hurricane Lowell

Due to damage caused by Hurricane Lowell, Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore and build sites are temporarily closed. The safety of our staff, volunteers, homeowners, and community remains our highest priority.

Initial cleanup of our ReStore and grounds is already underway. At the same time, our management team is assessing impacts across our active build and development sites.

While Kaua‘i Habitat does not operate as a relief or response agency, we are an active member of Hawai‘i VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and are in communication with partner agencies regarding community needs and recovery efforts.

Construction and ReStore operations will resume once our sites and facilities have been assessed and confirmed safe. Information about reopening and volunteer opportunities will be shared through our website, volunteer mailing list, and social media channels.

For those who would like to support Hurricane Lowell recovery, donations can be made through the Kaua‘i Habitat website by selecting “Hurricane Lowell Operations Recovery.” These funds will help make much-needed repairs to our ReStore and baseyard facility, and other related disaster resilience needs.

Thank you to our volunteers, supporters, partners, and community for your patience, care, and continued support as we work toward recovery.
