KBR Comes Through Again

This past Saturday members of the Kaua‘i Board of Realtors showed their dedication to Kaua‘i Habitat by returning for an additional build day of painting in Anahola. This enthusiastic group of volunteers made a dramatic change to the appearance of the future home of Donna Friend who is building her home on the Department of Hawaiian Homelands in Anahola. This is the second time in under a month that members from KBR volunteered their time and energy to helping us provide affordable housing to the Kaua‘i community! Just a few weeks ago they spent a day with us building homes and hope in ‘Ele‘ele. Way to go KBR! MAHALO!!

Welcome to the `ohana

We are so excited to welcome two new volunteers to the Kaua‘i Habitat ‘ohana!! Tim and Linda from Kalaheo have signed on to be core volunteers at our jobsite. Volunteers play a key role in keeping homes affordable for our homebuyers. Welcome Tim and Linda!! We are so happy you will be building homes and hope with us.

Total Dedication

Talk about dedication!! This amazing mother and daughter team are only on island for four days and chose to spend one of them building homes and hope with Kaua‘i Habitat! Now that’s dedication! Mahalo Mona and Jessica! We are truly impressed.

Happy Birthday Guy!!

Today we celebrate the birthday of our volunteer extraordinaire Guy! Guy has been a faithful volunteer of Kaua‘i Habitat for years. Longer in fact than many of the staff who honor him today! We are all so inspired by his dedication to our mission and our community. Happy birthday, Guy! We wouldn’t be where we are without you!!!

They don’t get any better

When it comes to volunteers; they don’t get any better than this!! Not only are Toph and Sherry taking time away from their vacation to build homes and hope with us, they have also asked if they can advocate for us at the resorts near where they are staying! That’s right, after a long day of hanging insulation, this amazing couple are heading off with brochures and business cards in hand to share our mission with other vacationers. We truly couldn’t ask for anything more in a volunteer. Mahalo Toph and Sherry for being such an inspiration!

Dow AgroSciences builds with Kauai Habitat

Kaua‘i Habitat staff and homebuyer Lance Kauwe had a blast building with Team Dow AgroSciences on Wednesday, August 2. Over a dozen employees from Dow came out to install roofing material and siding on the future home of Lance and Jaime Kauwe. Mahalo to The Dow Chemical Company for the generous house sponsorship and Team Dow AgroSciences for building homes and hope on Kaua‘i!
