Join us in welcoming Lyric to the Kaua‘i Habitat team! Lyric is 20 years old, and a 2016 graduate from Montclair High School in Montclair, New Jersey. She has a passion for culinary and pastry arts, criminal justice, history, and exploring different cultures. She is known by others to be compassionate, vigilant, confident and self-aware. From 2016-2017, Lyric served as a Class 23 AmeriCorps NCCC member in the Southwest Region. She has worked different projects as well as lived in Colorado, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
Her most memorable and rewarding project during her term was while working with Habitat for Humanity in San Antonio, Texas where she helped complete 14 new homes, 2 rehabs, landscaping, and helped prepare for the Dedication Day Ceremony. After completing her service year, Lyric knew that Habitat for Humanity was where she wanted to be for a longer term than just three short months. This brought her to search for jobs as a Construction Crew Leader, and secure her assignment with Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity. AmeriCorps is a program that engages adults in 10 1/2 months of public service work that helps meet the critical needs in the community. Mahalo Lyric for stepping up to the challenge.
