Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving FeastThis Thanksgiving we want to take the opportunity to say Thank You to all the people that do so much for Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity. We couldn’t do what we do without the help of everyone that pitches in to ensure that everyone has a safe, decent place to live. Our volunteers do so much. Whether it’s working alongside the homeowners doing construction, helping get the word out with our mailings in the office, or cleaning and organizing our ReStore® to generate funds for our programs, our wonderful volunteers give of themselves over and over again. Mahalo! Our constituents keep us going. It’s the donations and generosity of our supporters that keep our lights on and our door open. Without your continued generosity 129 families on Kaua‘i would not be able to say they own their own home. Mahalo!  Of course we could never forget our advocates. The people that keep our name out there and share the news of our events and achievements. Without you the need for affordable housing would go unnoticed. Mahalo!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our supporters! We are truly Thankful for you.

Build the Future Donation Drawing Success!

winnerA huge mahalo to all that participated in our first ever “Build the Future Donation Drawing”! On the evening of October 31, 2016 our lucky winner Jonathan received the call that he was the lucky winner. Jonathan is serving in the military, currently in Germany. He was thrilled to find out he would be spending his leave on the beautiful garden island. This is the first time we have held this type of fundraiser, and are so pleased with its success. This success would not have been possible without all of your entries. The funds raised will go directly to building homes and hope on Kaua‘i. None of this would have been possible without the generous donations by Alaska Airlines, Kiahuna Plantation Resort, Kamokila Hawaiian Village, Kaua‘i Backcountry Adventures, Plantation Gardens Restaurant and Bar, Merriman’s Restaurant and MCS Grill.   MAHALO EVERYONE!!

Two informational meetings will be held this month for those interested in applying for the Habitat self-help homebuyer program, which uses funding from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Department.
