DSCN9940A big mahalo to Capt. Bruce Hay and PMRF for supplying a strong group of volunteers that made tremendous progress building walls at this years Build-a-Thon! Great job volunteers!

DSCN9905It was a great day to build something! That’s just what more than 20 volunteers thought this past Friday when they arrived at the Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity baseyard to help build homes and hope on Kaua‘i. The group completed framing the walls for two 4-bedroom homes that will be located at the ‘Ele‘ele Iluna subdivision. This build team consisted of volunteers from PMRF, future homeowners of ‘Ele‘ele Iluna subdivision, and our community. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers on the island. DSCN9901 DSCN9911DSCN9915DSCN9917DSCN9918DSCN9937DSCN9940Kipi Akana, Leah Akana, Antonio Pope, Frank CruzIMG_4578

Welcome Westcoast Connection

This week we welcomed more than 20 students from the mainland who traveled to Kaua‘i to volunteer with Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity. The volunteers are part of an organization called Westcoast Connection. This organization offers many travel programs for teens and this group is part of a community service tour. Mahalo Westcoast Connection, for choosing service as part of your travel plans!photo 3 photo 2

Habitat for Humanity Philippines

PhilippinesTo further our mission of building a world where everyone has a decent place to live we have to think globally. That is why for the past several years Kaua‘i Habitat has forwarded a percentage of our unrestricted revenue to an overseas affiliate to help build homes and hope on a global scale. Due to the large Filipino community base of Kaua‘i, as well as the destruction their region has experienced, we have chosen to support the Philippines. We are happy to announce that this year we were able to send more than $5,500 to help out the families in need after so much devastation has occurred in their area.
