Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity is looking to appoint three open AmeriCorps positions. One position is through the AmeriCorps VISTA Program and two are through the AmeriCorps National Program. AmeriCorps is a branch of the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that helps more than 5 million Americans improve the lives of their fellow citizens through service. AmeriCorps VISTA Position
AmeriCorps ReStore® Development – Develop, document and implement plans to mobilize more funds for local house building through development of ReStore® opportunities and operations. This position may involve the development of a business plan, creation of a work schedule, recruitment and training of volunteer staff, publicity and promotion of the store, and evaluation of the ways in which the store meets the needs of the low income community while increasing funding for Habitat for Humanity. AmeriCorps National Position
AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader – Responsible for knowledge of construction tasks and leading crews of skilled and unskilled volunteers and partner families in those tasks, all while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. For those affiliates involved with NRI, Construction Crew Leaders can be valuable assets to the on-site volunteer training and management aspect of programs like ABWK, Critical Home Repair, and Rehabs.
